MANILA, Philippines — The country is expected to have fair weather with possible rain showers in the afternoon or evening on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The state weather bureau said there is a prevailing  “monsoon break,” where the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will not be affecting the Philippines after consecutive days of rains.

Instead, the ridge of a high pressure area will affect the country, particularly the Northern and Central Luzon, which is expected to bring fair and hot weather, Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

(Today, we are expecting better weather than yesterday, especially in Luzon. We expect isolated rains due to thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.)
