MANILA, Philippines — Las Piñas City’s third most wanted fugitive who has outstanding charges for alleged rape has been arrested in a police operation on Monday, the Southern Police District (SPD) said.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said in a report that the suspect, an 18-year-old male, was arrested along Maingat Street, Barangay CAA in Las Piñas.
Police said the suspect was among Las Piñas’ most wanted individuals and fugitives.
The suspect was said to have a pending arrest order for two counts of rape issued by Judge Nerina Anastacio-Mendinueto of the Regional Trial Court Branch 199 in Las Piñas.
Macaraeg said that the arrest order was released on May 6, with no recommended bail. A joint team from the Las Piñas Police’s Warrant and Subpoena Section and SPD’s Mobile Force Battalion enforced the warrant.
With the arrest of the suspect, Macaraeg said the police will forward a letter to the Court of Origin about the incident.
“I am pleased by the diligence of our men on the ground. We will never cease apprehending all wanted persons who are still hiding, we will not stop until they face the rule of law,” he said. With reports from Christine Annie Asistio, INQUIRER.net trainee
