MANILA, Philippines — A motorcycle rider was killed while another was injured following a collision in Sampaloc, Manila, over the weekend.

In a report released by the Manila Police District (MPD) on Monday, a certain Michael Evangelista Ang was riding a motorcycle south along Santol Street in Barangay 856 when he collided with Leonardo Mantica, who was going north.

The CCTV footage of Sunday’s incident showed that Ang was riding at top speed when the accident happened, knocking both of them down, police said.

The MPD report noted that Ang died instantly because of the force of impact.
