1 dead, 5 hurt in motorcycle collision in Batangas

LUCENA CITY—A motorcycle rider died, and five others were injured when their vehicles collided Sunday in Calaca town in Batangas province.

The Batangas police reported Monday that Raphael Hernandez, 23, was driving his motorcycle when he collided at around 10:30 p.m. with another motorcycle with a sidecar driven by Kelvin Clark Cahayon, 23, in the highway in Barangay Dacanlao.

Both drivers and four passengers of the motorcycle with sidecar suffered injuries and were rushed to the Ospital ng Calaca, but Hernandez died on the way.

Hernandez and Cahayon had no driver’s licenses, the police learned.

The authorities were conducting further investigation. INQ
