The Department of Energy (DOE) said Lotilla tested positive for the virus last Saturday, and is currently undergoing medication and isolation at home.

“Secretary of Energy designate Popo Lotilla informed the DOE that he has tested positive for Covid last Saturday and is currently undergoing medication at home and self-isolation,” the DOE said in a statement on Sunday.

Lotilla has also informed Malacañang of his conditions and will continue to provide updates, DOE said.

“Despite this, the DOE has been providing updates to the Secretary designate on matters affecting oil prices and other pertinent items for the immediate action of the Department,” it added.

The DOE did not provide information on how Lotilla contracted COVID-19.
