Habagat to dump rain over parts of PH on Monday – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue to dump rain over parts of the country on Monday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Bukas ang epekto ng habagat maaasahan pa rin sa ilang bahagi ng Southern Luzon. Palawan at Bicol Region, may pagulan pagkidlat at pagkulog,” said Pagasa seniorweather specialist Chriz Perez.

“Metro Manila at natitirang bahagi ng Luzon, generally maaliwalas ang panahon. Kung magkakaroon ng ulan sa dakong hapon at gabi dulot ito ng localized thunderstorms,” he added.

(Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, will have generally clear weather. If there is rain in the afternoon and evening it is caused by localized thunderstorms.)

Meanwhile, the “habagat” will also continue to bring overcast skies, as well as rain, while generally fair weather will prevail over Mindanao with chances of rain in the afternoon and evening.

Perez also said that no gale warning remains raised in the country’s surrounding coasts, but warned that moderate to rough sea conditions are expected over the western and northern seaboards of Luzon.

The state weather service said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Monday will be:

Metro Manila: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius

Baguio City: 16 to 21 degrees Celsius

Laoag City:  25 to 31 degrees Celsius

Tuguegarao: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius

Legazpi City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius

Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius

Tagaytay: 22 to 32 degrees Celsius

Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius

Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Cebu: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Tacloban City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius

Zamboanga City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Davao City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
