Patriots face off with Dragons

THE AIRASIA PHILIPPINE Patriots try to end their three-game road trip with a bang as they take on the reeling Westport Malaysia Dragons in the Asean Basketball League at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Patriots have managed to keep their league-leading record intact after wins at Indonesia and Vietnam in this rigorous three-game, 10-day road salvo.

They currently stand at 9-2 (win-loss), a half-game ahead of the San Miguel Beermen.

The team co-owned by Mikee Romero and Tony Boy Cojuangco is expecting a close game this time. In their previous encounter, the Pats pummeled the Malaysians, 86-72, on Feb. 5 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

There’s a bit of unpredictability facing the Dragons, who despite losing their last two games to the Saigon Heat and Bangkok Cobras, are still one of the league’s title favorites.

A welcome news for the Patriots is that Anthony Johnson and Ardy Larong will suit up this afternoon. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio with ABL media bureau
