MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were hurt after a fire struck a residential area in Barangay Sta. Ana, Pateros on Friday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the injured civilians as Aris Pitok, 31, and Rosauro Habitan, 59, both suffered from second-degree burns in several parts of their bodies.
In its initial report, the BFP said that the fire started in the second-floor bedroom of a house owned by one Azucena Pitoc, and spread to 12 other establishments and homes, and affected at least 15 families. Property damage was placed at P130,000, according to the bureau.
BFP said the fire was first reported at 4:22 a.m. and was already on its first alarm. It reached second alarm at 4:31 a.m, then placed under control at 5:07 a.m.
The fire was declared out at 6:10 a.m.
Twelve fire trucks and one ambulance responded to the scene.
