LUCENA CITY—Police arrested a provincial jail guard during a drug buy-bust on Thursday, July 14, in Sta. Cruz town in Laguna province.
Sta. Cruz policemen and drug enforcers collared at 5:35 p.m. Eugene Bactad after he allegedly sold P1,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover cop in Barangay Bagumbayan, the region 4-A police reported Friday.
The police said Bactad is a guard at the Laguna provincial jail.
Authorities seized from Bactad three plastic sachets with 10 grams of meth worth around P68,000.
The suspect was held in the custody of the local police while charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against him. INQ
