MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila registered 637 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, independent analytics group OCTA Research reported.
The 637 cases in the capital region are included in the 1,604 fresh infections recorded nationwide.
Of the new cases in Metro Manila, 112 are in Quezon City, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said on Twitter.

Makati trailed Quezon City with 110 fresh infections.
The remaining local government units in Metro Manila posted less than 100 new cases. Below is the breakdown:

- Las Piñas – 41
- Taguig – 37
- Parañaque – 34
- Pasay – 33
- Mandaluyong – 31
- Marikina – 30
- Muntinlupa – 29
- San Juan – 19
- Valenzuela – 15
- Caloocan – 12
- Pateros – 5
- Malabon – 2
- Navotas – 2
On Tuesday, David said that the rise of COVID-19 infections in Metro Manila “may be close to peaking or may have already peaked.”
