MANILA, Philippines — Three drug suspects have been arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Iloilo and Davao del Norte, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Wednesday.
Two of the suspects — considered “high-value” by the police — were arrested in Jaro, Iloilo City on Tuesday in a buy-bust conducted by members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 and the Drug Enforcement Team of Iloilo City Police Station 3.
The suspects are identified as Gian Paolo Riosa, 39, and Sachiko Nakata, 33.
“They have been monitored due to their widespread illegal drug transaction. Now, they will have to face the consequences of their actions in court,” Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., the PNP officer in charge, said in a statement.
Authorities seized from the suspects 25 sachets of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, with an estimated value of P1,156,000.
