MANILA, Philippines — An additional 1,363 infections of COVID-19 were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, raising active infections to 14,464.
Based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website, the new infections also brought the country’s caseload to 3,721,413 nationwide, with 3,646,309 recoveries and 60,640 deaths.
However, the new recorded infections were slightly lower than the cases logged on Monday, which was at 1,660, and the average number of infections recorded from July 4 to 10 at 1,467.
This, however, may be attributed to the lower number of tests conducted; only 14,397 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, July 10.
On the other hand, 19,775 individuals were recorded to have been tested for COVID-19 on Monday, July 11.
Meanwhile, the tracker showed that Metro Manila still leads with the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks by a significant margin with 8,246 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 3,581, and Western Visayas with 1,569.
Quezon City, topped the list of cities with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 1,703, Cavite at 1,379 and Manila with 1,052.
