Funeral parlor owner shot dead in Albay town

LEGAZPI CITY—The owner of a funeral parlor was shot and killed on Monday, July 11, in Libon town in Albay province. Executive Master Sergeant Maribeth Corporal, Libon police chief investigator, said Tuesday that Hernani Siapno, 44, was sitting in front of the funeral parlor, when two unidentified armed men shot him around 5 p.m. in Barangay Villa Petrona. Siapno died on the spot from bullet wounds in the head and chest. Corporal said the police were conducting further investigation to identify the suspects and establish the motive behind the killing. The Albay police conducted checkpoint operations for possible interception of the suspects. lzb
