DOH logs 121 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 121 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol region during the July 3 to 9 monitoring period.

In a report released on Monday, the DOH Bicol Center for Health Development (CHD) said the record was 47.56 percent higher than the 82 cases reported last week.

The province of Sorsogon listed 40 cases, 30 in Camarines Sur, 26 in Albay, 22 in Catanduanes, and one each in Masbate and Camarines Norte. The report said one COVID-19 patient is a resident of Quezon City and is now living in the region.

At least 14 new death cases in Catanduanes and one in Sorsogon were also confirmed by the DOH.

The report said the cases were validated through the death certificates, but no details on the actual date of death were given.

From March 27, 2020 to July 9, 2022, the region has reported 59,393 cases with 56,350 recoveries and 2,615 deaths. INQ
