Road repair causes heavy traffic along Osmeña Highway
MANILA, Philippines—Motorists are advised to take alternate routes when planning to travel along Osmeña Highway due to heavy traffic in the area caused by an ongoing road repair, a metrobase official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said Friday.
Rey Dumol said the entire stretch from Osmeña Highway to the South Luzon Expressway and Nagtahan Bridge has been experiencing heavy traffic since 9 a.m. mainly due to a road repair project by the Department of Public Works and Highways, but worsened by the volume of trucks plying along the highway.
“Traffic in all directions—northbound, southbound, eastbound and westbound,” he said.
Dumol said private vehicles coming from the South Luzon Expressway heading towards the South Super Highway could turn right to Zobel Roxas Avenue in Makati, then to Onyx Street in San Andres, then to Pedro Gil, then to Quirino Avenue to avoid the heavy traffic on Osmeña Highway.
Private vehicles from Nagtahan Bridge going to South Superhighway can, meanwhile, take a left turn to Singalong, then to San Andres, then to Quirino Avenue all the way to Vito Cruz and finally making a right turn to south superhighway, Dumol said.

While MMDA is looking forward to a lighter traffic by the end of the day, MMDA suggests motorists to just take another route.
