Fish, not bomb, found in ‘suspicious’ box at Camp Crame

MANILA, Philippines—A suspicious box found in the Philippine National Police headquarters in Quezon City Friday afternoon yielded fish bones, not bombs, police said.

Senior Police Officer 4 Dominador Kirido of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal division said they rushed to Camp Crame in Quezon City around 12:30 p.m. after ground officials informed them of a suspicious box left near the camp’s Santolan gate.

After an hour of careful inspection, the ordnance team wearing a bomb suit, discovered that there was no bomb inside the box, just fish bones, Kirido said.

“Iniwan lang yan ng mga taong walang magawa kundi gawing basurahan ang Camp Crame (It was left by people who’ve got nothing better to do but make Camp Crame a trash bin),” he said.
