Advocates against the Reproductive Health bill will hold a rally tomorrow in downtown Cebu City to dramatize their opposition to the bill.
Participants will gather in Plaza Independencia and Plaza Sugbu from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In a press conference, Dr. Rene Bullecer, director of Human Life International, said the “rally is set because we have heard that the bill is urgently being pushed in Congress. Pro-RH bill representatives want to stop the interpolation so that they can proceed with the voting,” Bullecer said.
The rally, which falls in the season of Lent, is anchored on the theme “’Lenten walk for Life,” which will speak for the group’s intentions days before Congress start its recess on March 22.
Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama, Rep. Cutie Del Mar and Rep. Pablo John Garcia and former represetative Antonio Cuenco are expected to deliver messages.
Bullecer said programs like this will help sustain their campaign to press Congress to reject the bill.
“The RH Bill has been here for 14 years and we have won in the the last 13 years,” he said.
Congress will resume its session on May 6. /UC Main Intern Manuel Alexes T. Tan
