TACURONG CITY, Sultan Kudarat – Four people were wounded Saturday evening when a bomb exploded inside a bar here.
Inspector Rolly Oranza, city police chief, said the explosive fashioned from an 81 millimeter mortar shell went off around 8:30 p.m. inside the Starlight Videoke Bar along the national highway in Buenaflor village.
Wounded were Elinita Molanalesna, 34; Sorayda Tabon Lagya, 28; Noraya Laguia, 24; and Glaiza Juan, 19. They were rushed to the Quijano Clinic and Hospital after the explosion.
Police are looking for a man who hurriedly left the bar minutes before the explosion.
Two weeks ago, lawmen recovered and defused an explosive left in front of a shopping center here.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The US Department of State, in its June 14 update to the November 2, 2010 advisory, warned of the “risks of terrorist activity in the Philippines, particularly in the Sulu Archipelago and on the
“Terrorist attacks could be indiscriminate and could occur in other areas, to include Manila. Targeted sites may be public gathering places including, but not limited to, airports, shopping malls, conference centers, and other public venues,” it said.
