PDEA operatives in Tarlac confiscated shabu and arrested suspects during a buy-bust operation

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested three people and confiscated some P89,700 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation at Balete village in Tarlac City on Wednesday, July 6.

Glenn Guillermo, PDEA-Central Luzon public information officer, said the operation conducted by PDEA-Tarlac and city policemen resulted in the arrest of Jessie Mandigma, 51; Manuel Mandigma, 48; and Mandy Cayabyab, 43, on Wednesday afternoon.

He said an undercover PDEA operative managed to buy a small sachet of shabu from the suspects using marked money.

Upon their arrest, the suspects allegedly yielded three bigger sachets of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 13 grams. The marked P500 bill was also recovered.

The trio will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
