Close call for wire photographer at transport caravan

It was a close call for a photographer of an international news agency when his camera’s lens was grazed and damaged by what was believed to be a bullet while covering Thursday’s transport caravan.

The lensman, Jay Directo of Agence France-Press, had the incident recorded on the blotter of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) upon discovering that part of his camera was cracked.

According to the police report, Directo was covering the transport caravan atop a truck offering free rides to stranded passengers.

At around 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Elliptical Road, the photojournalist heard two shots as he was clicking away during the coverage.
