The lensman, Jay Directo of Agence France-Press, had the incident recorded on the blotter of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) upon discovering that part of his camera was cracked.
According to the police report, Directo was covering the transport caravan atop a truck offering free rides to stranded passengers.
At around 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Elliptical Road, the photojournalist heard two shots as he was clicking away during the coverage.
Surprised, Directo glanced at his camera, a Nikon DS3 SLR that was hanging by his waist and was shocked to see a hole in the lens. Julie M. Aurelio
