MANILA, Philippines — Management of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) has promised to improve its services after newly-installed Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista identified areas for improvement.

Bautista made a surprise visit to the MRT-3 on Monday and rode the train in disguise to “experience first-hand the services of the rail line and interact with commuters.”

In a message on Wednesday, the MRT-3 shared to INQUIRER.net the observations of the new transport chief during his inspection:

“We thank our good Secretary for his feedback and recognition of the improved services of the MRT-3 following his surprise visit,” the MRT-3 management said in a statement.

“At the same time, we assure him that the MRT-3 will continuously work on the areas for improvement that he has identified to better serve the needs of all our passengers,” it added.

The MRT-3 management further said it will affirm its commitment to Bautista’s vision of safe, affordable, accessible, and comfortable public transportation. – Xander Dave Ceballos, INQUIRER.net intern
