LIGAO CITY — The local government unit (LGU) of Daraga town launched on Tuesday afternoon a mobile laboratory and diagnostic clinic to provide free medical services to residents.

Mayor Carlwyn “Awin” Baldo told reporters in a press conference that the mobile clinic will directly go to the 54 villages of Daraga to help residents who cannot afford to visit the municipal health office due to financial constraints.

“By doing this, we will be able to prevent [various] ailment(s) from getting worse and keep a healthy community with the aid of medical teams,” Baldo said.

The mobile laboratory and diagnostic clinic offers services for free including medical check-ups and laboratory tests like X-ray, ultrasound, full blood chemistry, all serology tests, drug test, urinalysis and fecalysis, and COVID-19 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test.

Baldo said the mobile lab and diagnostic clinic will stay until the public hospital that the LGU is planning on building is completed.
