MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan City residents may apply for work opportunities as the local government opened a week-long job hiring.
The recruitment activity, which the Public Employment Service Office conducted, is part of Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan’s programs “to provide part of the 10,000 new job opportunities for Caloocan City residents.”
“Naniniwala tayo na madiskarte ang mga Batang Kankaloo, oportunidad lang ang kailangan. Kaya dapat, mapa-high school graduate o college graduate man, may trabaho dapat tayong mailaan para sa kanila,” Malapitan said in a statement o Tuesday.
(We believe that Caloocan residents are resourceful, they only need opportunity. That’s why, even if they’re a high school graduate or college graduate, we should provide them jobs.)
Of the 3,640 available jobs for the employment fair, 741 were offered on Tuesday, and several applicants were hired on the spot.
The activity is limited to fully-vaccinated Caloocan residents, with open positions for high school and college graduates.
The job hiring will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at PESO South Caloocan-City Hall; and Thursday and Friday at PESO South and North Caloocan City Hall. – Xander Dave Ceballos, INQUIRER.net intern
