MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and the low pressure area (LPA) embedded within it will bring overcast skies and scattered rains in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Tuesday, according to the state weather bureau.
In its early morning public forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA within the ITCZ was last monitored 330 kilometers east of Juban in Sorsogon.
“Ito ay mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo sa susunod na dalawa hanggang tatlong araw. Itong LPA ay nakapaloob sa ITCZ at itong ITCZ, naapektuhan [nito] ang Southern Luzon, Visayas hanggang sa Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio noted.
(The LPA within the ITCZ has low chances of developing into a storm within the next two to three days. But this ITCZ will affect areas in Southern Luzon, Visayas up until Mindanao.)
He added that these weather systems will cause cloudy skies and sporadic rains in the following areas:
Visayas
Caraga
Bicol Region
Palawan
Quezon
Aurora
Isabela

Meanwhile, the state weather bureau forecast generally fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers, especially in the afternoon and evening, and will prevail in the remaining parts of the archipelago, including Metro Manila.
