MANILA, Philippines — Active COVID-19 cases stood at 10,094 on Monday after the Department of Health (DOH) reported an additional 1,188 cases of COVID-19 through its coronavirus tracker.
The fresh infections also drove the country’s total COVID-19 caseload to 3,709,386, including 3,638,690 recoveries and 60,602 deaths.
Monday’s new coronavirus cases are higher than the average daily infections logged during the past week (June 27 to July 3), which was at 1,057, although lower than the recorded 1,323 new cases on Sunday, July 3.
The DOH data also showed that Metro Manila continues to register the highest number of new infections among the country’s regions in the last two weeks with 5,783 cases. It is trailed by Calabarzon with 2,263 cases and the Western Visayas with 1,014.
Quezon City, meanwhile, topped the list of cities with the most reported cases at 1,249, followed by Manila with 810 and Makati with 774.
The DOH’s COVID-19 tracker also indicated that only 13,323 people have been tested for COVID-19 on July 3.
