MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has been “upbeat, very encouraging, and well-received” in his first few days as the country’s chief executive, the Malacañang said Monday.

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said this when asked how Marcos settled in his new role a few days following his inauguration.

“He attended today’s flag ceremony as required. He has been… from what I can see is that he is always well-received. So far that is what we can observe,” she added.

Due to security reasons, however, Cruz-Angeles said the Palace cannot divulge the living conditions of the Marcos family yet.

“We wait for the final announcement,” Cruz-Angeles said.

On Monday morning, Marcos attended the flag-raising activity at the Malacañang.

The President also attended a closed-door executive committee meeting at the Department of Agriculture in Quezon City. To recall, Marcos said he would head the department “for now” to address issues faced by the sector.

On Monday afternoon, Marcos is scheduled to attend the change-of-command ceremony of the Presidential Security Group.
