LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle rider died after figuring in a collision with a bicycle in Cainta, Rizal on Saturday afternoon.
The Police Regional Office 4A said motorcyclist Samuel Olegario accidentally hit a mountain bike ridden by Art Leo Britanico while the cyclist was crossing the pedestrian lane in Barangay San Juan at around 4 p.m.
Both riders sustained injuries and were taken to Cainta Municipal Hospital, but Olegario died on the way.
The report did not state whether or not the fatality was wearing a crash helmet as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
Further investigation is ongoing.
