LIGAO CITY—Anti-narcotics operatives arrested on Thursday, June 30, a suspected drug trader who yielded at least P680,000 worth of alleged “shabu” (crystal meth) in Legazpi City.

Police said Jose Ermel Llamoso Alcala, 55, was caught with about 100 grams of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Bogtong village.

“This is the result of an intensified drug campaign, and we were instructed by Albay Governor Noel Rosal and his wife, Mayor Geraldine Rosal, to crack down on illegal activities, particularly the illegal drug trade, in the city and the province,” Lt. Col. Dexter Versola, office-in-charge of the Legazpi police station, told the Inquirer in a text message.

The suspect was detained and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
