MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday prodded health facilities to liquidate COVID-19 benefits for health workers and submit all documentary requirements to warrant its distribution.

The DOH said the following benefits remain unliquidated by private health facilities:

It added that 10 local government units have yet to liquidate a combined amount of P101 million across all the three benefits, and three national government hospitals have yet to liquidate P30 million of SRA.

The DOH said the health facilities should submit documents such as the COVID-19 Risk Exposure Classification, attestations, and Memorandum of Agreement, as well as Liquidation Reports covering any previously transferred funds from the department to allow the urgent distribution of the benefits.

“The submission of documents will facilitate the immediate distribution of the Special Risk Allowance (SRA); Meals, Accommodation, and Transportation (MAT) allowance; and One COVID-19 Allowance (OCA) funds to our healthcare workers and frontliners who deserve to be paid on time,” the DOH said in a statement.

“DOH urges all to do their part towards this goal,” it added.

DOH chief of staff and Usec. Leopolda Vega explained that the department must follow these regulations to ensure funds reach qualified beneficiaries.

“The DOH is more than willing to guide PHAPI (Private Hospital Association of the Philippines) on policies that aim to ensure the appropriate use of government funds,” said Vega.

“We also invite PHAPI and other interested healthcare worker groups to please join our regular forums where we provide updates on the status of the benefits,” he added.
