08:02 AM March 15, 2012

THE barangay captain of Poblacion, Talisay City, belied rumors that the old bell of Sta. Teresa De Avila Parish Church was missing.

Teodoro Belleza said they conducted an ocular inspection last Monday and they found out that the bell was removed from where it used to hang but it was not missing.

A church employee said that the bell was repaired. That is why parishoners did not see it in the church.

The bell is said to be as old as the Sta. Teresa Parish Church that was built in 1836 and is considered as one of the oldest parish churches in the country. Belleza said they would have wanted to meet with Msgr. Rommel Kintanar to clarify reports about the bell, but Kintanar did not face them when they visited him at his convent.
