MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) off Pangasinan and the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, will bring rains over most of the archipelago on Tuesday, according to the state weather bureau.
In its early morning public forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said overcast skies and intermittent rainshowers will prevail in Luzon, Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
(The entire Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA and southwest monsoon.)
(The southwest monsoon will also cause gloomy weather with chances of sporadic rains and thunderstorms in Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula today.)
Meanwhile, Aurelio said generally fair weather conditions will persist in the rest of Mindanao, but he still warned about isolated rains that may still be encountered especially in the afternoon and evening.
The LPA, last spotted 305 kilometers west of Dagupan City in Pangasinan, may leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday or Thursday, according to Pagasa.
