Daet cops accost man for grave threat but nab him over unregistered gun
MANILA, Philippines — A man who is facing complaints of grave threats in Camarines Norte ended up being arrested for possessing an unregistered firearm, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday.
Reports reaching the PNP’s Public Information Office (PIO) showed that personnel from the Daet Municipal Police Station responded to complaints against suspect Ferdinand John Suzara, 47, of Barangay VII in Daet, Camarines Norte.
At the scene, the PNP-PIO said police officers saw and eventually seized from Suzara a .40 caliber Glock handgun loaded with 10 live bullets after he failed to provide them with the supporting documents to prove he is allowed to own and possess the firearm.
Further verification also disclosed that the gun does not exist in the database of the PNP Property of the Police Regional Office 5 and the PNP Logistics Data Information and Management System (PNP-LDIMS).
Consequently, the police officers arrested Suzara.
