DepEd welcomes ‘timely’ career program system for public school teachers
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday celebrated the establishment of the Expanded Career Progression System for public school teachers.
According to DepEd in a statement, the new executive order will promote professional development and career advancement among public school teachers by officially creating new position titles namely Teacher IV, Teacher V, Teacher VI, Teacher VII, and Master Teacher V.
“DepEd, which is coincidentally celebrating its 124th founding anniversary today, is grateful to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for this monumental policy that will expand the classroom teaching career line and provide merit-based career progression opportunities,” said the agency in a statement.
It then assured that it will work with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in formulating the rules and regulations of the EO.
“Likewise, we shall continue to develop programs to ensure that our teachers are consistently motivated in providing quality education to our Filipino learners,” the agency added.
