NPA rebels kill forest ranger in Bulacan, cops say

MANILA, Philippines — Three alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in two separate encounters in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur, the Philippine Army reported on Thursday.

In Agusan del Norte, two members of NPA were killed after their encounter with government groups in Little Baguio, Brgy. Consorcia, Las Nieves municipality on Tuesday.

The slain personalities were identified as Rey Torregosa, 24; and Juliven Badbaran, 41. Confiscated from them are two high powered guns.

On Wednesday, an unidentified rebel in Surigao del Sur was killed during a clash in Barangay Bagsac in Madrid municipality. A high-powered gun, along with other items, were recovered on the site.
