DOH Central Visayas chief pathologist to lead Cebu City Medical Center
CEBU CITY — The chief pathologist of the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas will assume office as chief of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama on Wednesday, June 22, announced his decision to let Dr. Mary Jane Loreche handle the affairs of the CCMC.
Loreche, in an interview, said she accepted the offer of Rama to lead the CCMC, which the mayor envisioned to be like hospitals in Singapore that provide the best services to patients.
“I share in his (Rama’s) vision. I believe that the least fortunate of this place should be given the best medical services. We have seen that during the pandemic so we need to strengthen our healthcare system,” Loreche said.
Asked if she will continue her functions with the DOH, Loreche said another official may replace her.
Loreche stressed that there is no bad blood between her and DOH.
