Corona got P3.3M from poll tribunal, says witness

MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Renato Corona received about P3.3 million allowances and per diem from the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal when he was a member and chairman of the tribunal, a witness said on Wednesday.

“During his 21 months as a member of the House of Representatives and Electoral Tribunal, he (Corona) received a total of P2, 504, 022.92,” said the defense team’s witness, Girlie Salarda.

“As chairman for five months, (Corona) received P855, 784.93 or a total of P3, 359, 807.85,” Salarga said.
