Motorcycle rider dies in crash in Laguna

LUCENA CITY—A motorcycle rider died when he lost control of his vehicle while traveling on Tuesday night (June 21) in Calamba City, Laguna.

The Calabarzon police reported Wednesday that Adam Alcozer lost control at 7:50 p.m. of his motorcycle while negotiating the downhill section of Chipeco Ave. in Barangay Lecheria.

The wayward motorcycle crashed into a wall on the roadside. The victim suffered grave injuries and died on the spot, the police said.

The report did not say whether the victim was wearing a crash helmet for protection as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.

Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group data show that the PNP-HPG recorded more than 6,000 motorcycle accidents last year across the country.
