‘Personal reasons’ behind Yumul’s retirement

MANILA, Philippines—Science and Technology Secretary Mario Montejo said Wednesday that “personal reasons” made Undersecretary Graciano Yumul Jr. seek optional retirement from government service.

“It is with deep regret that I accept the decision of Undersecretary Graciano Yumul Jr. to seek optional retirement from government service due to personal reasons,” Montejo said in a statement issued by Malacañang Palace.

Montejo wished Yumul “all the best in his future planned endeavors.”
