Rape suspect falls in Pampanga after 18 years in hiding

ANGELES CITY — The most wanted person in Apalit town, Pampanga province was finally arrested after going into hiding for 18 years, the Pampanga police announced on Tuesday (June 14).

In a statement, the Pampanga police said Ronnie Magpayo, 41, was cornered before dawn on Monday (June 13) at San Vicente village in Apalit.

It said operatives had with them a copy of a warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Elizabeth Dela Serna of the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 62.

Magpayo was detained at the Apalit municipal police station before he is presented before the court.

In nearby Mabalacat City, policemen arrested a suspected motorcycle thief in Dau village on Tuesday.

The provincial police identified the suspect as Kevin Maglalang, a resident of San Joaquin village in Mabalacat.

Police said two plastic packets of crystal meth, or shabu, and four packets of dried marijuana leaves had been seized from Maglalang.
