There will also be isolated rain across the country from the afternoon to evening, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) added.

In an early morning forecast by Pagasa, weather specialist Grace Castañeda noted that localized thunderstorms may bring overcast skies and sporadic rainfall in the country, especially in the latter parts of the day.

(Today, we’re expecting hot and humid weather conditions in the country, but isolated rains, thunderstorms, and lightning may still be experienced from afternoon to evening.)

Although the rain showers are seen to be brief and isolated, Castañeda still warned it may cause flash floods and landslides, particularly in residential areas near mountains and bodies of water.

(The rains that we’ll experience will last for a short period, maybe until about two hours. But it may still bring about floods and landslides, especially for those living in low lying areas, and near streams, rivers, and mountain ranges.)

Pagasa reiterated that, as of its latest analysis, no tropical depression is being observed within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
