Two events added in Bantayan Beach Games April 5 to 8

TWO new events have been added to the usual sporting events in the Bantayan Beach Games 2012 slated April 5 to 8 in Bantayan Island, northern Cebu.

The two  are the off road duathlon and the off-road duakids. Both events will kickoff this four-day affair on April 5.

Both events will also be held at a new venue, the Bantayan Island Nature Park & Resort in barangay Tamiao.

The rest of the events such as the cycling individual time trial, 5-kilometer open-water swimming, 5K beach run and oceanman will be held at the Sugar Beach Resort in Sta. Fe town.

A beach soccer is also in the offing to be organized by Joshua Fegidero, a former Philippine Azkal member and one of the football coaches of the University of San Carlos.

The Bantayan Beach Games will be capped by the third and final leg of the Summit Triathlon Team Championship Series on April 8.

Meanwhile Benjoe Gimenez of the Sugbu Triathlon, one of the organizers of the event, said 10 online registrants have made their entries official by paying their registration fees.

Partnering Sugbu Triathlon in organizing the event is Sports Adventure Travel and Services.

With the early bird period already over, the registration fee is now pegged at P700 per event except for the Summit Triathlon Team Championship Series.

The fee is inclusive of an event T-shirt and fellowship dinner.
