SUV driver that ran over security guard still in PH

MANILA, Philippines — To date, there is no indication that the owner of the sports utility vehicle (SUV) that rammed a security guard in Mandaluyong has left the country.

“[There] is no record of departure after the subject incident,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Tuesday.

Last June 5, a white Toyota RAV4 with plate number NCO 3781 ran over a security guard manning the traffic near a mall in Mandaluyong. The incident was caught on a dashcam which has gone viral.

The owner, identified by the police as Jose Antonio Sanvicente, has been summoned twice by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) but he failed to comply.

The police have already filed a complaint before the prosecutors’ office for frustrated murder and abandonment of one’s victim under Article 275 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) against Sanvicente, which is currently up for preliminary investigation.

Sanvicente is also included in the government’s lookout bulletin.
