ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur—A commercial photographer and his companion were arrested Sunday in a raid at Martha Drive, Santa Catalina village in this city.

Major Shellamae Chang, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9), said the raiding teams seized more than P2 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride substance, locally known as “shabu,” in their anti-illegal drugs operation.

The police identified the two drug hawkers as Adriano Ganela Pedro, also known as Jun-jun, 40, a photographer who lived in Barangay Santa Catalina; and Jimhar Jalani Usman, also known as Jemsrockz, 40, an unemployed resident of Barangay Talon-Talon.

Chang said the team recovered six sachets containing around 300 grams of suspected shabu. They also seized a cellular phone, pouch, eco-bag, a motorbike, and marked money from the two suspects.

Pedro and Usman are under the custody of the Zamboanga City Police Station (ZCPS) 11 while awaiting the filing of charges.

Chang said the team, composed of personnel from the ZCPS 11, anti-drug enforcement unit, and other police special units conducted three buy-bust operations on June 12.

In another operation at Barangay Kasanyangan, police arrested Mumar Baning Sahari, 25, and Jamal Jimlani, 27, after police recovered from them shabu worth P4,700.

At Sitio Davuy Grande in Barangay Sibulay, police recovered P1,700 worth of shabu from a PUJ driver named Benhar Ajalal Abdul, 40, of Duncaan, Barangay Mangusu.
