Carjack suspect Raymond Dominguez hurt in attack after court hearing in QC
MANILA, Philippines—In a daring attack, a motorcycle-riding gunman on Tuesday shot and wounded Raymond Dominguez, one of two brothers suspected of leading a notorious carjacking ring, while he and other inmates were being escorted by jail custodians on their way back to Bulacan province from a court hearing in Quezon City.
The bullet only grazed Dominguez’s right ear and he was rushed to East Avenue Medical Center for treatment, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Director Rosendo M. Dial said. No one else was injured in the two-car convoy of 12 BJMP guards and about five other inmates, including Dominguez’s brother Roger, who was also charged with the death of car dealers Venson Evangelista and Emerson Lozano.
Dial said the attack occurred at 3:15 p.m. on C-5 in Eastwood, Libis, and was carried out by two men on a motorcycle.—DJ Yap, Nancy C. Carvajal
