OLONGAPO CITY—Two elderly residents in this city were the latest to get infected with COVID-19, data from the local health office showed on Sunday, June 12.

The patients, a 66-year-old man from Barangay Barretto and a 70-year-old man from Barangay Gordon Heights, were fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Both did not show symptoms of the viral disease.

The local task force said the new patients brought to seven the city’s active COVID-19 cases.

Olongapo has registered 7,004 COVID-19 cases since 2020. At least 6,647 patients had been cleared of the disease, accounting for 95 percent of all cases.

The city also recorded 350 deaths related to COVID-19, the data showed.

As of Sunday, at least 17 more residents were being monitored for possible COVID-19 infections.
