MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) suspended operations after two men fell on the tracks from a flyover in Pasay City on Sunday evening.

The MRT-3 management in an advisory said the two unidentified men reportedly fell on the train tracks between the line’s Taft and Magallanes stations at around 6:37 p.m.

“Train operations were halted as security personnel and medical professionals responded at the area of the incident,” said the management of MRT-3

“No breakdowns on the MRT-3 system have been reported,” it added.

Train operations, meanwhile, resumed at around 7:26 p.m. but for southbound trips only.

According to the MRT-3 management, the Philippine National Police’s Scene of the Crime Operation (PNP-SOCO) is now investigating the incident.

INQUIRER.net has reached out to the PNP to get more details but has yet to receive a response, as of this writing.

In a police report obtained from the PNP, the two still unidentified men were involved in a motorcycle accident, falling from the Tramo Flyover in Pasay City and onto the tracks of the MRT-3.

Initial investigation revealed that the two were traveling along the Aurora Boulevard Flyover in Pasay City when the driver lost control due to the slippery road.

A witness also confirmed to police that the victims fell from the flyover to the Northbound Rail Tracks of MRT-3 near EDSA Taft Station.
