MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested two suspected drug peddlers in two separate buy-busts in Cebu, yielding P2.2 million worth of crystal meth or “shabu.”
The first suspect, identified by the Philippine National Police (PNP) as Jerome Pacada Casul, 36 years old, was arrested by an operating unit of the Talisay City Police at around 2:33 a.m. in Sitio Dawis, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City.
Authorities were able to confiscate 38 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 200 grams valued at about P1,360,000.
Meanwhile, the second suspect, Jenelyn Alcuizar, 32 years old, was arrested by the Cebu City Police at around 1:50 a.m. along B. Rodriguez St., in Barangay Sambag II, Cebu City.
Both Alcuizar and Casul are tagged by the PNP as “high value individuals.”
Recovered from Alcuizar were 125 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P850,000.
“Congratulations to our Central Visayas operatives for another commendable accomplishment. Let us remain committed in our fight against illegal drugs for this is not only a fight to protect the lives of our people, but preserving the future of our next generation,” PNP officer in charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said.
The two suspects are now in police custody for documentation and proper disposition.
