LIGAO CITY — All domestic flights at Bicol International Airport in Daraga town in Albay province were canceled on Sunday due to the threat that Mount Bulusan’s phreatic eruption poses to aircrafts.
Gremil Alexis Naz, spokesperson of the Office of the Civil Defence (OCD) Bicol, told the Inquirer in a text message that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed with their operation center that Cebu Pacific decided to cancel its flights.
CAAP also informed them that flights of the Philippine Airlines were cancelled, too.
The agency did not specify how many passengers were affected by the cancellation of flights.
Bulusan Volcano had a phreatic eruption at 3:37 a.m. Sunday, which was its second this month since the June 5 event. Alert level 1 prevails over the volcano.
