Security guard dead in motorcycle accident in Batangas

LUCENA CITY – A security guard died when he lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on Friday night (June 10) in San Juan town in Batangas province, report said Saturday.

The Batangas police reported that Christopher Carandang, 38, was traveling towards the town center at around 8:14 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle in Barangay (village) Nagsaulay.

The motorcycle turned wayward and skidded, causing injuries to the rider. He was taken to San Juan District Hospital but died along the way.

Police did not say whether the victim was wearing a crash helmet for protection as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
