Rain from ITCZ to persist in Palawan, Zamboanga
MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist in Palawan and Zamboanga Peninsula due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said Friday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) noted that the ITCZ along the eastern section of Mindanao may also trigger floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
While no tropical depression is being monitored within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja still cautioned against cloud clusters, circulations and possibly, a low pressure area that may form because of the ITCZ.
Generally fair weather, on the other hand, will prevail in the rest of the country, but isolated rain showers may still be expected throughout the day.
“Sa natitirang bahagi ng ating bansa, generally mainit at mayroong mga pag-ulan lalo na sa hapon hanggang sa gabi na mararanasan pa rin,” Estareja stressed.
